Josephine is an absolute livewire. Performing since her teens, Josephine has entertained people of all ages from 50th birthday parties, 21st birthday parties, to weddings, Christmas functions, cocktail parties, corporate functions and teambuilding events.
Josephine has performed for the likes of MTN, Public Service Association, Rotary Club, Fourways Mall, Fourways Gardens, Gateway, Roodepoort Botanical Gardens & Monte Casino to name but a few.
Her beautiful voice reaches everyone at the function and her vivacious character has people on their feet. Josephine performs a full spectrum of music. Whatever you require, she has it. With repertoire that stretches from Rock And Roll (Elvis) to the Beatles – through to the latest country (Shania Twain), contemporary pop (Celine Dion, Madonna, Avril Lavigne), blues (Cheryl Crow, Mesi Gray) to rock (Pink, Anastacia).
Josephine also offers a VERY UNIQUE ‘team building / atmosphere enhancing set list entitled ‘Dance Around The World’ and ‘Dance Through The Ages’. Josephine gathers EVERYONE on the dance floor and teaches them an array of dances from the different decades or dances from different countries. For example – Africa = Mafikizoli / Greece – Zorba’s Dance / France – The Can Can / Fifties – Rock ‘N Roll. It works like a bomb every time in getting everybody dancing, laughing and interacting with each other. It’s an unforgettable experience for everyone who’s danced it.
Josephine not only has her audience out of their seats dancing, but offers a ballooning competition. Josephine demonstrates to her audience how to make a balloon shape (ie. Dog). The audience are then each given their own balloon and compete against each other to see who can complete the demonstrated shape first. The end results from the audience are shall we say… ‘some what interesting’ and cause great laughter and camaraderie amongst the audience.
In 1990 Josephine lived in California and was the lead singer of The Ruminators. The Ruminators recorded four tracks in Sparks Studio, Berkley. Produced by Burke Trieschman and The Ruminators. In 1993 Josephine returned to Zimbabwe and performed in a musical ‘The Beatles’ and won her first award at Reps Theatre for ‘Best First Performance’. She then went on to release her first single – One To One – through Gramma Records. Due to public demand, Josephine recorded her second single which was released in 1996 entitled – Fly. Fly reached the top ten in the local charts.
In 1999, Josephine recorded and released her first album entitled Train Ride. The thirteen track album was penned by Josephine and her producer Pete Wilsher. She presented this album to top South African Producer Dennis East. He fell in love with her songs and through BMG SA, re-recorded the songs here in South Africa.
In 2002 Josephine signed a publishing deal with BMG Publishing RSA and has had several of her songs placed with local artists – Wings to Soar – Jo Dan. Take It All Away – DKN, Fly – TK.
As Josephine is a songwriter, she can compose a catchy theme tune for YOUR function.
Josephine continues to perform, entertain and dazzle audiences around Africa. She is capable of performing with a two piece, five piece or ten piece band if necessary. Josephine also has her own PA system for small and large functions. Josephine can travel to any venue you require. She is a definite must at your function!
